If there’s anything that 2020 has changed in the way that SLMA practices medicine, it’s how innovative we’ve become with patient services. As caregivers, we were challenged to find a way to continue to serve our patients while practicing social distancing under the statewide stay-at-home order, so our team immediately got to work on setting up a telemedicine service. Since its launch, it has been an incredible experience for both patients and doctors to be able to manage their health in the safety of their own home.

What is Telemedicine?

Telemedicine has been around in one form or another since the 1950s, but in recent years it has become more sophisticated, and increasingly user-friendly and secure. Remote consultations between patients and doctors are HIPAA secure and accessible through any phone, tablet, or computer that is microphone and camera enabled. We can manage patient records, diagnose, treat and even perform certain diagnostics from a distance with the same quality care you would receive in person.

What Types of Appointments are Available for Virtual Consultations?

No need to pay for a sitter or lose precious time driving to and from your doctor’s office—just give us a call to schedule your virtual appointment and start managing your health from home.
