ABOUT SLMA
Who are we?
South Louisiana Medical Associates located in Houma was formed in 1978 to serve as an educational affiliate of the Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation.

SLMA was founded with a public mission including teaching and training of residents in all major specialties providing them hands-on experiences under the direct supervision of a full time medical staff. A “Provider” Partnership was forged with Leonard J. Chabert Medical Center to deliver these services. Chabert Medical Center, (CMC), is a J.C.A.H.O. accredited institution owned by the State of Louisiana and governed by the Louisiana State University Medical Center.

SLMA continues to employ more than 100 medical providers and host a successful internal medicine residency program at Leonard J. Chabert Medical Center. SLMA also has additional locations in Houma and Morgan City, providing services at Terrebonne General Medical Center in Houma, LA and Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City, LA.

SLMA also has practice affiliations with independent medical providers and organizations to provide care to communities throughout south Louisiana.

At SLMA, we believe in personalized attention with our patients as the main focus. That is why we provide care for a multitude of specialties so you can easily manage your health care with a provider you trust through a single point of contact.
