Who are we?
South Louisiana Medical Associates located in Houma was formed in 1978 to serve as an educational affiliate of the Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation.
LMA was founded with a public mission including teaching and training of residents in all major specialties providing them hands-on experiences under the direct supervision of a full time medical staff. A “Provider” Partnership was forged with Leonard J. Chabert Medical Center to deliver these services. Chabert Medical Center, (CMC), is a J.C.A.H.O. accredited institution owned by the State of Louisiana and governed by the Louisiana State University Medical Center.
The mission of South Louisiana Medical Associates incorporates the delivery of both high quality medical services and graduate medical education through accountability, sound fiscal practices, scholarly activity through research, and employee satisfaction.
