Why did you choose to go into the medical field?
I have always been interested in the medical field since I was a small child. My mom is a nurse and helped spark a love for people and medicine.
What is your favorite part of practicing medicine?
My favorite part of practicing medicine is talking to patients, especially the part where I tell them how I plan to take care of them and what they can expect from their hospital stay. I also enjoy everything I get to learn each day.
What is your least favorite part of your job?
My least favorite part of practicing medicine is seeing people hurting and afraid. I work hard to alleviate as much pain and fear as I can.
What do your clients say about you?
My clients say that I am compassionate and understanding. The sound of relief in their voices when they thank me for my service lets me know I am doing a good job.
What interests you most about working at the SLMA Comprehensive Health Clinic?
I am most interested in the team I work with and the vision they hold in providing the best care for our patients. Their positivity is contagious. I love working with my group.
What are your key responsibilities within the clinic?
I work on the in-patient side of health care at Terrebonne General Medical Center. My role with regards to the clinic is to refer patients to our clinic after hospital discharge in order to provide the best comprehensive care.
Who inspires you?
I have had several nurse practitioners inspire me … Fabian Whitney, NP; Jaime Gaudet, NP; Amber Berry, NP, just to name a few. They have been my role models and have guided me to where I am today.
Do you have a motto or personal mantra?
“Lord, please guide my hands, heart and mind in taking care of your people.”
What are you most passionate about professionally?
I am passionate about doing everything I can to make sure my patients are taken care of in the hospital and in their daily lives.

What are you passionate about personally?
I am passionate about God, my family and best friends.
What is your favorite pastime outside of work?
I like to exercise, go to the beach and spend time with family and friends.
Any volunteer activities or nonprofits you love and why?
I love any 5K run. There are so many for so many causes. I feel like this is the best way to get people together to support a cause and promote health through exercise.
Anything else you’d like to tell people about yourself?
I am a Houma/Chauvin native, and I have spent a great deal of time working at both major hospitals in Houma. I am very happy to work among people who have become like family. Home is where my heart is.
