Dr. Adam Ziegenbusch, DPM, is a podiatrist with the SLMA Comprehensive Health Clinic. Dr. Ziegenbusch is focused on helping patients get back to normal daily activity and be pain-free.
Why did you choose to go into the medical field?
I shadowed a podiatrist in my hometown in Ohio for a couple of years. He is an excellent physician and pillar-of-the-community-type guy. He showed
me what being a doctor is about and how you can help others in the community inside and outside of the clinic.
What is your favorite part of practicing medicine?
My favorite part of what I do is when patients come back for follow-up visits and are pain-free. Seeing their happiness and having them be able to get back to their normal daily activities pain-free is a wonderful thing.
What is the least favorite of what you do?
It is frustrating to not be able to get something my patient needs due to insurance reasons.
What do your clients say about you?
My patients say I’m kind, caring, patient, a good listener and have good bedside manner.
What interests you most about working at the SLMA Comprehensive Health Clinic?
Being part of team-based healthcare center and improving patient care through continuity of care is a rewarding effort.
Who or what inspires you?
My family is my inspiration. They give me the drive to continue on during tough times and are always there to celebrate the good times.
Do you have a motto or personal mantra?
I believe in following the Golden Rule.
What are you most passionate about professionally?
Saving someone from a lower leg amputation is life changing for both patients and myself.
What most excites you about your work and the contribution you can make?
Podiatry is a somewhat unknown medical profession. Educating other physicians and those in the community on what we are able to do as podiatrists and how we fit into a medical team is important.
What are you passionate about personally?
I am an English soccer fan.
What is your favorite pastime outside of work?
My favorite pastimes include spending time with my wife, Andrea, and our three kids, watching sports with friends, cooking and reading.
