A native of Morgan City, Dr. Thurston completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. She completed her medical degree at the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine after receiving her undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University in Journalism.
Board certified in Internal Medicine, Dr. Thurston also holds memberships in the American Medical Association, American College of Physicians and the Louisiana State Medical Society.
